NEWPORT, R.I. (WJAR) — For Portsmouth’s Dana Gilmour, running is an outlet.
“Trying to move from, you know, missing Amy, being such a sad part to reflecting on the positive things,” Gilmour said.
Gilmour’s wife, Amy, died after a battle with metastatic breast cancer in February. On Sunday, the Navy veteran ran 26.2 miles in her honor, with friends and family cheering him on.
Amy’s nurse practitioner and now close friend to the Gilmour family, Amy Pilotte, ran alongside with Gilmour. Pilotte is a nurse practitioner with Brown Surgical Associates.
