Thank you for your patience as we transition to Brown Health Medical Group. The Brown Surgical Associates (BSA) MedStreaming patient portal will be phased out as of January 1, 2026. You have until then to download any information or data from your MedStreaming patient portal. It will no longer be available to you after January 1, 2026. You will be able to access MedStreaming until then, here.
If you need copies of your health record documents after January 1, 2026, you can request those from the provider’s office, from the hospital where you were treated, or contact Health Information Management at 401-793-7402.
If you are an eCW user, there are no portal changes for you right now. eCW will be in place through March 2026. At that time, eCW will be replaced with MyChart. We will update you in advance of the transition. Please inquire at your provider’s office if you are unsure of which portal your information is on.
MyChart
MedStreaming users will have access to the Brown University Health patient portal, MyChart, on December 1, 2025. With MyChart, you have the opportunity to:
- Request appointments at your convenience
- Complete pre-visit tasks from home

If you already have a MyChart account, there is nothing you need to do. You will start to see updates from your providers and practices who were previously using MedStreaming on MyChart beginning December 1, 2025.

What’s Next
Brown Physician Inc. practices, including Brown Surgical Associates, have joined Brown Health Medical Group. We will be in a transition period through March 2026.
Beginning December 1, 2025, any bills that Brown Surgical Associates patients receive for services rendered will come from Brown University Health. When you receive a statement of benefits from your insurance provider, it will identify Brown Health Medical Group as your healthcare provider. This applies to all bills and statements of benefits except for those for services received at our Thoracic and Colorectal surgery programs. This billing and naming change will be implemented for Thoracic and Colorectal surgery programs in March 2026.
We will continue to communicate with you regarding additional changes you will begin to see in the office and online.
What’s Not Changing
Your care will not change. You can expect the same excellent care you receive from Brown Surgical Associates, with the added benefits of belonging to a healthcare system where you can access everything you need for your care journey, and manage it all in one place, MyChart.
We Appreciate Your Patience
We appreciate your patience and understanding as our staff becomes more familiar with the new Electronic Health Record (EHR) and patient portal.
We are excited for our patients to experience the many benefits of our new systems and are confident that once fully implemented, you’ll be pleased with the improved patient experience.
Thank you for trusting us with your healthcare.
