

Dr. Kim is a pediatric, general and thoracic surgeon with interests in Applied Sciences and Innovation. He is a founder of two medtech startups, and the founding lead for the Centre for Image-Guided Innovation and Therapeutic Intervention (CIGITI) at the Sickkids in Toronto. His startups are in digital health for monitoring and decision support, and an intelligent surgical device company to democratize surgery. At Children’s National in DC, he was the founding lead for the pediatric surgical innovation institute, the PI for FDA-funded pediatric device consortium, and has a number of filed and issued IPs relating to surgical vision, intelligence and autonomy.
Dr. Kim received his medical degree from McGill University with the distinction of Master of Surgery and completed his surgical residency training and pediatric surgery fellowship at the University of Toronto.
